Mean palatal bone height (mm) at the 88 evaluated sites (P1-P88) for different age groups. In the area of the raphe palatina mediana as well as in the anterior and posterio-lateral area of the palate, there is generally a decrease in bone height with increasing age, whereas in the direction of the alveolar processes anterio-laterally between 13 and 16 years, there is a sharp increase, followed by a further decrease in bone height
