Reconstructed mandible (defect localization 1) on the control cast. In the upper part of the image the plaster cast (blue) and the silicone impression (green) are visible. The lower part shows a part of the customized titanium implant with one fixation screw. The tooth (molar) depicted in the center of the image is located posterior of the defect bridged by the customized implant. The silicone has been removed for control – a correct fit of the silicone to the tooth is obvious from various directions (arrows). This is comparable to the key-lock-principle. The perspective is as shown in the overview of the mandible (right upper corner)
