Because of mandibular growth and orthodontic decompensation (the latter is a prerequisite for orthognathic surgery) and insufficient growth of maxillary complex, the open bite and Class III worsened as compared with lateral x-ray at age 10.7 (compare Fig. 10). Tooth 18 will be left in place because of its malposition.
